Name: Marlee Krietzman

Hometown: Minnetonka, Minnesota

How do you stay busy from September-May?
I am currently studying Political Science and Anthropology at Montana State University. I also am a member of the Montana State Horse Polo Team and the Montana State Women's Lacrosse Club. On the weekends I spend my time playing with my horse Copper, training horses for a therapeutic riding school, playing bluegrass on my upright bass, and backpacking though the Tetons.

How long have you been involved with Warren?
I was a camper for nine years and have been on staff for four.

What activities are you involved in?
Sailing! I also dabble in Photography and Horseback riding

What age group do you work with?
I really enjoy leading Short Border canoe trips. I love to teach 13 and 14 year olds how to paddle a canoe and live resourcefully in the wilderness.

What is one piece of advice you would give a first year camper?
Camp is a place to play, grow, and learn. There are not many places in the world where one minute you can be learning how to sail a C Scow and the next be playing an all camp game of Capture the Flag.

Why do you enjoy working at Warren?
My favorite thing about camp when I was little was that I was able to play games and do activities that I couldn’t do at home, like sailing, rock climbing, and horse back riding. As I got older, camp became more of a place where I could be myself and be around the people I loved the most.

Favorite camp song?

Favorite all camp game?

Favorite Camp Counselor moment:
My favorite experience as a camp counselor was this past summer. My co-counselor and I took out an amazing group of girls on a Short Border canoe trip in the BWCA. They all fell in love with the wilderness and bonded so well with each other. My co and I would be in our tent at night and we could hear them in their tent saying how much they appreciate our guidance and how they could not wait for what the next days had in store. The whole experience was grounding and I could not thank those girls enough for how much fun I had.

Anything else we should know about?
The world is full of magical things, camp being the best.
