February was a wild month for YMCA Camp Icaghowan. After a very quiet January, the Island saw three groups come to the island, including the return of YMCA Camp Icaghowan Winter Camp, which ran without a hitch thanks to the dedicated staff and volunteers who came up to help out with all the fun.
February 5th-7th marked the glorious return of Camp Icaghowan winter camp. Over 30 campers chose to brave the elements and spend the weekend at camp.
Younger campers got to experience all kinds of fun activities around the island. They spent time snowshoeing, building quinsy huts, sledding and more!
Older campers went on a winter adventure. They hiked around the island and prepared shelters where they spent a night out at Pioneer Point. Luckily the weather was mild or they might have been in for a cold night!
There was great fun had by everyone. It is a great opportunity to get back to the island and see it in a whole different time of year. We are already counting the days until next winter!
