Teen Specialty Camps

Developing leadership qualities and abilities are important life-long ingredients. Our leadership camps develop the whole person — spirit, mind, and body — through a variety of service projects, hands-on activities, and team building exercises. Our leaders of tomorrow begin with our youth of today!

Teen Extreme

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall 2017

It’s bold, brave and extreme! This program gives participants a taste of some of the most popular Summer Extreme Programs: climbing at the Rock Wall at Emma B. Howe, rock climbing Taylors Falls, challenge courses, zip line, water games and more!

Parent Note: Tuesday, parents must drop off at Emma B. Howe YMCA in the a.m. Before care is available. Pick up will be at normal bus stops.

Teen Archery

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall 2017

Campers discover the science behind drawing and releasing the bow while fine tuning their archery skills. Instructors show campers the proper grip, stance and aim alignment. Campers will take a field trip to the Bunker Hills Archer Range. Equipment will be provided.

Two-week session for teens grades 7 – 8 in fall, 2017

Teens rise to the challenge of Leaders-in-Training Camp and discover their leadership qualities. Participants will learn and develop camp skills needed to lead camper activities, including personal development through confidence building and responsibility management, as well as group development through activity planning and event organization. They’ll have opportunities to shadow counselors of younger campers and assist staff in their camp activities. There will also be plenty of time to hang out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole new perspective!
