Teen Specialty Camps

Developing leadership qualities and abilities are important life-long ingredients. Our leadership camps develop the whole person — spirit, mind, and body — through a variety of service projects, hands-on activities and team building exercises. Our leaders of tomorrow begin with our youth of today!

Climbing Camp

Entering grades 5 – 7 in fall, 2017

Campers strike out on a bold adventure as they test their strength, strategy, and skill on our Low Initiatives Course and a variety of high elements. Climbers learn and use basic climbing skills, belay techniques, knot tying, and climbing safety. Fun team initiatives aid in a successful climb. Two hours a day will be spent in Climbing Camp with the remainder of the day spent doing Traditional Day Camp activities.

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall, 2017

Teens rise to the challenge of Leaders-in-Training Camp and discover their leadership qualities. Participants will learn and develop camp skills needed to lead camper activities, including personal development through confidence building and responsibility management, as well as group development through activity planning. They’ll have opportunities to shadow counselors of younger campers and assist staff in their camp activities. There will also be plenty of time to hang out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole new perspective!

Junior Counselor Program

Love working with kids in a camp setting? Here’s your chance to take a leadership role! Junior Counselors are assigned to a group and assist the Senior Counselors in leading and carrying out a variety of Day Camp programs. Junior Counselors help campers acquire feelings of self-esteem, self-worth and competence in an outdoor setting. Previous experience in the LIT program or working with children is required. Candidates will be selected through application and the interview process. Contact the Day Camp director for more information: 763-230-9309.
