YMCA Little Lotus Yoga™ class focuses on the union of the spirit, mind and body.  With games, stories, imagination and kid friendly yoga poses we simplify a complex, ancient practice into something that is modern, inclusive, accessible and fun.

Through yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditation/relaxation exercises we can guide youth to a deeper connection with their own bodies.  Youth learn physical skills such as strength, balance and flexibility as well as concepts such as cooperation, compassion and gratitude all while having a blast.

FREE for Members

  • Level: All
  • Drop-in Class (ages 3-6 must check in through Kids Stuff)
  • No registration required

Age Requirements

  • 3+ year olds may attend Family classes with a parent or guardian
  • 3-6 year olds may attend Kids Classes without a parent when checked into Kids Stuff
  • 7+ year olds may attend Kids Classes without a parent

A Typical Class

Each instructor creates the rhythm for their class which includes standing poses, twists, core work, balancing poses, forward bends, backbends, inversions and restorative poses. All postures combine flexibility, strength, and balance for a whole-body workout.

Attire and What to Bring

  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body
  • Loose-fitting, functional clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow
  • Shoes are optional
  • Water, towel
  • Yoga mat – bring your own or check with your branch for availability
