Healthy Living Learning Kitchen

Learn to properly fuel your body

When you visit our Healthy Living Learning Kitchen, you’ll get connected with nutritionists and health/wellness professionals that are excited to share how food can be used to benefit your body—whether it’s to boost energy, fight inflammation or reduce stress.

The Healthy Living Learning Kitchen is a place where you can:

Enjoy learning about food and nutrition

See what’s cooking this month.

  • Registration required: $10 for members, $15 for non-members

  • Registration required: $25 for members, $35 for non-members

In a 4-week Kids Cooking Series, children enjoy hands-on classes that are designed to highlight how nutritious foods contribute to tasty treats and meals.

  • Meet weekly—30 minutes for preschoolers, 45 minutes for ages 6-8 and one hour for ages 9-12
  • Registration required, pricing depends on age: $30-40 for members, $50-60 for non-members

Get a free snack

Come to a Fuel Break to assemble a quick, nutritious snack to rev up for your workout or recharge after exercising. A kitchen facilitator will be on-hand to help you understand how the snack helps to fuel your body. There’s no need to register for Fuel Breaks—just drop in when they are scheduled.

Have a hassle-free birthday party

Celebrate your child’s birthday at the Y with a Cooking Party—and we’ll handle all the details for the special day. Kids will learn about tasty, nourishing foods with age-appropriate group cooking activities, plus get a primer on kitchen safety. There will be time to enjoy the prepared food together, and open presents too. Birthday parties  allow you to pick the food and whether you’d like to include an additional art or fitness activity at the Y.
