The Y Make Change initiative creates a YMCA pathway of social responsibility, leadership development and civic engagement from middle school into young adulthood. It’s managed and run out the University Y—a natural place to mobilize college students as mentors and change makers in the Y community.

There are two key components that comprise the initiative:

  1. A defined path and progress through experiences for young people interested in developing leadership at the Y. For example:
  2. The Y Make Change Fund provides mini-grants ($500-$2,000) for community impact projects, programs or events initiated by youth.

Through Y Make Change, young people will connect with youth leaders across the association, learning from one another and developing skills to maximize the impact they will have on our community today and tomorrow.
