Getting to Camp Warren

YMCA Camp Warren: Buses and Transportation

You are welcome to bring your child directly to Camp Warren or register for the camp bus program.

Drop-off

Camp Drop-off

We welcome campers and their families to drive directly to camp for drop-off. Guardians are welcome to explore camp on first and last days. We do ask that you keep your visit short, as parking is limited on site.

Camp Drop-off Time: 10:30-11:00 a.m.

Bus Drop-off

Requires pre-registration. Taking the bus to Camp Warren is a fun and exciting way to begin the summer camp experience. All buses depart from and return to the Shoreview YMCA, located at 3760 Lexington Ave North, Shoreview, MN 55126. At check-in, you will receive directions for where to unload, medications will be labeled and collected, and you will be directed to the bus by our staff and volunteers.

There are bathrooms on Minnesota Coaches buses, but make sure to use the bathroom before boarding. Once loaded, campers are asked not to get off the bus. The bus ride is approximately 3 hours. Make sure the camper and YMCA team know who is authorized to pick up the camper at the end of their session.

  • Bus Stop Check-in: 8:00-8:30 a.m.
  • Bus Departure: 8:45 a.m.

Pick-up

Camp Pick-up

You will be asked to present a photo ID. If someone else will be picking up your child, be sure to let us know in advance.

  • On-camp Pick-up Time: 12:45 p.m.

If an adult does not come to pick up a camper, we will try to locate the identified emergency contact. If no one is available after 30 minutes, we will call the police. YMCA staff members are not allowed to transport campers at the end of a session.

Bus Pick-up

Bus will arrive at the Shoreview YMCA on Friday around 4:30pm. Small delays (under 30 minutes) are communicated via Facebook, and longer delays by email.

If an adult does not come to pick up a camper, we will try to locate the identified emergency contact. If no one is available after 30 minutes, we will call the police. YMCA staff members are not allowed to transport campers at the end of a session.

Transportation Changes

Contact Us -  to make changes to your transportation. Requests must be made at least one week prior to the session start date.

Transportation change requests received one month or earlier prior to the session start date will be made with no additional change fee. Transportation change requests received up to one week prior to the session start date will be made and assessed a $10 change fee.

Directions to Camp Warren

From Minneapolis/St. Paul:

  • Travel north on I-35. Take the “Cloquet/Range Cities” exit and travel on Highway 33 through Cloquet and continue north.
  • Highway 33 ends and becomes Highway 53. Continue north on Highway 53.
  • On Highway 53, you will pass the towns of Canyon, then Cotton. About 1 mile past the St. Louis River at mile marker 55 is County Road 690 (Miller Trunk Road); take a right.
  • The Camp Warren entrance is just 100 feet ahead, on the right.
  • Driving time is approximately 3 hours.

From Duluth:

  • Take Highway 53 north through Hermantown.
  • On Highway 53, you will pass the towns of Canyon, then Cotton. About 1 mile past the St. Louis River at mile marker 55 is County Road 690 (Miller Trunk Road); take a right.
  • The Camp Warren entrance is just 100 feet ahead, on the right.
  • Driving time is approximately 1 hour
