Throw your own Harvest Party

Decorations Think browns, yellows and reds, bales of hay or plates with farm animals. Gourds and pumpkins and maybe a scarecrow! (you could even make one as party activity)

Snacks Roasted pumpkin seeds, popcorn, pumpkin or zucchini bread. Or have an "apple tasting" contest letting kids try different varieties of apples. Or make caramel apples!

Activities Explore the inside of a gourd or pumpkins. Have a pumpkin seed spitting contest. Bob for apples. Fill a wagon with hay and take your little one on a hayride around the neighborhood. Create "dried apple heads”. Decorate mini pumpkins with paint. Enjoy fun wheelbarrow races.

Leaf fun Go on a leaf hunt. After you have collected the leaves, place them in between clear contact paper to make autumn placemats.

Harvest Party Games

Roll the Gourd Using empty plastic pop bottles for bowling pins, give each kid 3 chances to roll the gourd into the pins. The gourds go every which way but straight.

Popcorn Relay Race Be the first team to successfully transport popcorn from a full bowl to an empty bowl, using only a small measuring cup.

Scarecrow Relay Race Be the first team to complete a scarecrow. Provide each team with the clothing and stuffing.

Needle in a Haystack Hide quarters or prizes in a large pile of hay. The children will take turns digging got prizes.
