US Senate Internship Opportunity

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over!  As everyone gears up to go back to school, I wanted to share with you that Senator Al Franken is beginning a new statewide high school internship opportunity this year for 11th and 12th graders who are passionate about improving the lives of Minnesota youth and interested in learning about the workings of a U.S. Senate office.

You can take a look at the flyer for all the information, but you could expect to do the following types of projects:

  • Research issues that relate to your community
  • Job shadowing staff members
  • Attend local government meetings
  • Lead a youth meeting in your community
  • Interview a person that works with youth in order to learn more about the work they do

Go to www.franken.senate.gov, fill out the high school internship application from the Apply for an Internship page and send it via mail to

60 Plato Blvd East
Suite 220
Saint Paul, MN 55107

Or by email to highschoolintern@franken.senate.gov by September 20, 2017

Happy applying!
