Welcome Nick Weber (AKA Baxter), our new Summer Program Director

Hi everyone! My name is Nick, although some of you may know be by my alias "Baxter". I have been with the Y since 2005. I have spent seasons working for Camp St. Croix, Camp Widjiwagan, Day Camp Guy Robinson, Camp Ihduhapi, and two summers at Camp du Nord. In 2017, I was excited to return to du Nord in an administrative role, and was fortunate enough to transition into the Summer Program Director role in October 2018.

In the summer, I love wandering the North Arm trails, eating meals with families in the Dining Hall, and sunrise paddles to Hegman (I also love looking for Bonzo, although I never seem to have any luck finding him!) I also love spending time at camp in the winter. There is nothing like an afternoon ski on the trails followed by a late night dip through the ice hole after some time in the sauna.

When I am not at camp, I live in St. Paul with my wife Jana (we just recently celebrated our wedding...at camp!) and our dogs Tucker and Mai. We love to bike around the cities and paddle when time provides. We also love the springtime - we like to make maple syrup in our backyard when the sap is flowing.

Camp is such a special place to me, and I know it means so much to all our campers. The sense of community at the end of each week is incredible, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to continue to provide the same sense of community everyone has grown accustomed to with their time at camp. It's a magical place, and I cannot wait to make Summer 2019 the best summer yet!
