Where are they now?

Check out what our staff are up to since summer camp ended!

Erin: After camp I moved to Rouen, France to work as an English teaching assistant in two middle schools. I have also been doing some traveling to Berlin and Prague. My favorite memories from camp include spending time on the lake and meeting all the amazing campers and staff.

K.C.: After such a whirlwind of a summer, I settled back down into the ever increasing challenge of nursing school and clinical rotations, slowly losing my summer tan, but not losing the connections I have with my camp family. We keep in touch through social media and text message, already reminiscing about the times had at camp. When I was at camp I began to miss my college routine, apartment and friends, but with this next exam coming up my feelings have definitely changed, and I would give anything to be waking up to some relaxing morning yoga, back in the carefree camp life once again.

Helen: After the summer at Ihduhapi, I moved to Zhahai, China, where I’m currently an environmental science teaching assistant at a local university. I’ll be here for the academic year and then onto the next adventure (with hopefully some camp in between). Without a doubt my favorite camp memory was leading the Junior Leaders (JLs) canoe trip on the Namekogan and St. Croix rivers, it was an amazing experience with an incredible group!

Hunter: After camp I got a job in the programs department of YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch. All of my free time is spent climbing as many mountains as I can out here. My favorite camp memory was all of the theme days, from Space to Nana.

Blue: At the end of the Summer I just couldn’t bear to leave camp! I started working in the team building department here and have been living at camp. Now I spend my time playing games and climbing the high ropes course with all ages. It has been wonderful to be able to watch the seasons change here it Ihduhapi. My favorite fall memory was standing at the top of the giant zip-line on a beautiful fall day looking out at all the fall colors of camp!

Griz: When summer ended I attended a semester course in New Zealand, spending 3 months in the backcountry, after which I’ll be attending school at Northland College. My favorite memory from summer was getting to know my wonderful coworkers (friends & family) in addition to taking out some awesome Junior Leaders on the St. Croix River for a week.
