When the maples start flowing, the groups start showing. Aside from a few winter groups Spring Outdoor Education season kicks off when the sap in Camp St. Croix’s maple trees start running. This occurs when the day-night temperature fluctuation consistently moves from below freezing to above freezing. Croix hosts an annual Homeschool Family Camp where participants learn about the process from sap-syrup; the end result, each family gets to take home some of Camp St. Croix’s liquid gold. Spring staff training starts March 27-31 and from there the groups don’t stop coming until we turn over the reins of Camp St. Croix to our Overnight and Day Camp!
