Embrace the North

There are 2 ways to embrace the north with us this winter!

Winter Experience, Ages 8-11

Spend a weekend exploring Camp Icaghowan’s winter landscape. Play outside during the day, and sleep in a warm, cozy cabin at night.

Activities include:

  • Winter & ice safety training
  • Campfires
  • Sledding
  • Snow painting
  • Star gazing

Drop-off: Saturday at 2pm. Pick-up: Monday at 2pm

Register

Winter Adventures, Ages 12–17

Go on a winter campout. Campers spend Friday night indoors, learning camping skills and preparing equipment. Saturday, they trek out with trained winter camp staff and build their own sleeping shelters.

Transportation Fee: $50

January 19: 12:30 – Camper Bus Drop off at Shoreview YMCA. Please make sure that your camper has eaten lunch before catching the bus.

January 21: 3:30 - Camper Bus Pick-Up at Shoreview YMCA. Please remember your ID for camper pick-up.

  • Non Cotton Long Underwear
  • 2-3 Non Cotton Upper Body Layers
  • Plastic Bowl
  • Plastic Spoon
  • Insulated Mug
  • Regular Clothes
  • Winter Jacket (with hood if possible)
  • Chap Stick
  • Sunscreen
  • Flashlight or Headlamp
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Toiletries 
  • Personal Medical Supplies in original container with name and dosage

Optional

  • Ski Gloves
  • Head Band
  • Rain Suit (good for carving out snow shelters and as a wind layer)
  • Small Garbage Bags
