Specialty Camps

At each of our specialty camps, day campers spend a portion of each day in their specialized activity. The remainder of the day is spent enjoying traditional camp activities.

Dragons, Fairies & Princesses Camp

Entering grades K – 2 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $195/week

Campers let their imaginations soar in this magical fairy tale-themed camp. Adventures will include themed arts and crafts, a mystical quest and a special tea party!

Pirate Camp

Entering grades K – 2 in fall 2017

Weeks of June 19, July 10 and August 7

Arrrrrgh! Young Buccaneers learn the swashbuckling lingo of pirates, play games like Capture the Pirate Flag, try their balancing skills as they walk the plank, go on treasure hunts and a whole lot more!

L'il Pardners Camp

Entering grades K – 2 in fall, 2017 (Must be 5 years old)

Weeks of June 12, July 10, July 31 and August 14

This specialty camp will have kids saying “Howdy” with a big grin. They’ll giddy-up for a pony ride, hayride and sing fun campfire songs all in the great outdoors! Participants will also enjoy L’il Pardners and traditional day camp activities throughout the week. One day will be spent at the horse stables.

Super Hero Camp

Entering grades K – 2 in fall, 2017

BAM! POW! KAZAM! Kids think, dress, and act like superheroes! Kids bring their own superhero costume or make one at camp. Suiting up as their favorite superhero each day, they’ll explore their own super powers. Activities include super games, super crafts and super fun. Where else can kids spend the day as their alter-ego superhero, meet other superheroes and save the world?

Critters and Crawlers Camp

Weeks of July 24 and August 7

Campers become “Eco-Explorers” as they investigate the natural surroundings at camp. We will take forest treks, prairie walks and beach tours to explore our local wildlife. Activities include: bug safaris, nature hunt, create a critter from litter and more!

Archery Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $195/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $220/week

Weeks of June 12, July 17, July 31, August 14, and August 28

While learning the fundamentals of archery, campers examine equipment close up, identify the parts of the bow and arrow, and learn the science behind drawing the bow and releasing the arrow. Instructors teach proper grip, stance, and aim alignment to use while approaching the target. Campers will discover their ‘eye dominance,’ the first step in becoming a skilled archer. Archery Camp uses more advanced equipment such as Genesis Bows. Equipment is provided.

Fishing Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Weeks of June 12, June 19, July 17, July 31 and August 21

Kids get hooked on fishing as they learn basic fishing skills. Lakes provide the scene for fishing fun using the catch-and release method. Campers can bring their own pole and tackle, or equipment will be provided.

Outdoor Living Skills Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Kids develop their outdoor living skills in this exciting, hands-on specialty camp! Campers discover the finer points of preparing for a big outdoor adventure. Participants will learn a variety of useful camping skills that may include building a fire, making camp shelters, knot tying, campfire cooking and more!

Science Explorer Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Campers take off into a world of exploration through hands-on experiments to learn essential concepts applied towards a variety of eruptions, engineering experiments and much more.

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Weeks of June 26, July 31, August 7 and August 21

Campers discover their artistic side and let their imaginations soar. Kids create a variety of projects that may include: sketching, watercolors or paints, nature collages, picture frames, necklaces and bracelets, and much more. Campers create masterpieces to take home and enjoy!

Theater Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall, 2017

Kids free their imaginations and develop improvisational skills! Campers explore the world of theater through games, acting
exercises, learning about stage make-up and even performing for an audience. This camp is great for building self-esteem.

Outdoor Games Camp

Entering grades 3 – 6 in fall 2017

Weeks of June 12, July 24 and August 14

It’s all fun and games as campers learn to play a variety of outdoor games with a “camp style”. This camp keeps kids
active and learning about lifetime games. Campers learn to play field and yard games. This camp is a safe, fun, non-competitive program designed to build leadership skills and self-esteem through team work. A special field trip is planned each week.

Stand Up Paddleboard Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2017

Members: $210/week
Program Participants: $235/week

Campers learn the fast-growing, life-long sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding. It’s a fun and easy way to play on the water. Kids learn basic paddling (forward, turning, stopping), how to stand up on a board, lift and carry their board, and how to launch and land it.

Canoe/Kayak Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2017

Weeks of June 19, July 10, July 24 and August 7

Campers learn paddling skills and canoe/kayak safety as they experience the challenge of navigating water! Kids learn to identify the parts of the canoe/kayak, paddling techniques, the importance of teamwork. A daylong adventure down the Rum River will test their skills and they’ll enjoy a fun cookout!
