Teen Specialty Camps

Developing leadership qualities and abilities are important life-long ingredients. Our leadership camps develop the whole person — spirit, mind, and body — through a variety of service projects, hands-on activities, and team building exercises. Our leaders of tomorrow begin with our youth of today!

Teen Extreme

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall 2017

Member Participants: $235/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $260/week

Weeks of June 26, July 17, July 31

This program gives you a taste of some of the most popular Summer Extreme Programs: climbing at the Rock Wall at Emma B. Howe, rock climbing Taylors Falls, challenge courses, paddleboards and more!

Parent Note: Tuesday, parents must drop off at Emma B. Howe YMCA in the a.m. Before care is available. Pick up will be at normal bus stops.

Teen Archery

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall 2017

Member Participants: $195/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $220/week

Week of June 19, July 10, August 7 and August 21

Fine tune your archery skills and learn new ones. Archery games will help you discover the science behind drawing and releasing the bow. Instructors will show you proper grip, stance and aim alignment. Campers will take a field trip to the Bunker Hills Archery Range. Equipment will be provided. Equipment will be provided.

Leaders-In-Training

Two-week session for teens grades 7 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $265/session
Non-Member Program Participants: $290/session

Weeks of June 19, July 10 and August 14

Rise to the challenge in Leaders-in-Training Camp and discover your leadership qualities. You will learn and develop the necessary camp skills needed to lead camper activities, as well as group responsibility through activity planning. You will have opportunities to shadow counselors and assist staff in camp activities. There will be plenty of time to hang out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole new perspective!
