Teen Specialty Camps

Developing leadership qualities and abilities are important life-long ingredients. Our leadership camps develop the whole person — spirit, mind, and body — through a variety of service projects, hands-on activities and team building exercises. Our leaders of tomorrow begin with our youth of today!

Teen Challenge Course

For campers entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $225/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $250/week

Weeks of June 12, June 26 and July 17

Strike out on a bold adventure as you test your strength, strategy, and skill against our high ropes challenge course. Learn about basic climbing, belay techniques, knot tying and climbing safety. Fun team challenge initiatives will aid in a successful climb. Most of the day is spent on the Challenge Course at Sacajawea and YMCA Camp St. Croix with the remainder of the day filled with Traditional Day Camp activities.

Teen Fishing Camp

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $205/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $230/week

Weeks of June 12, July 24 and August 7

Get hooked on fishing as you learn basic fishing skills. Lakes provide the scene for fishing fun using the catch-and-release method. You are encouraged to bring your own pole and tackle if you wish but equipment is available for use as well.

Teen Survival Skills Camp

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $195/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $220/week

Weeks June 19, July 10, July 31 and August 14

Develop your camping skills as you work together to set up camp in the remote campsites at St. Croix. Learn a variety of useful camping skills that including: building a fire, shelters building, knot tying, campfire cooking, navigating maps and more!

Teen Arts & Drama Camp

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $205/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $230/week

Weeks of July 10 and July 17

Take to the stage to learn and perform, participate in improv, act in theater skits, and create craft projects. You will learn from staff of the Black Dirt Theater, our local theater company.

Teen Archery/Slingshot Camp (NEW!)

Entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $195/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $220/week

Weeks of June 26, August 7 and August 14

Two amazing and traditional target sports, the bow and arrow and the slingshot, are very popular today. Gain understanding and learn to properly use both safely. Learn to make and use your own targets, learn about different types of bows, and the basics of aiming and target shooting. Weather permitting Friday’s will include testing your skills at a public archery range.

Leaders-In-Training

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall, 2017

Member Participants: $265/two weeks
Non-Member Program Participants: $290/two weeks

Two-Week Sessions: June 19 – 30, July 24 – August 4 (10 days/session)

Rise to the challenge in Leaders-in-Training Camp and discover your leadership qualities. You will learn and develop the necessary camp skills needed to lead camper activities, as well as group responsibility through activity planning. You will have opportunities to shadow counselors and assist staff in camp activities. There will be plenty of time to hang out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole new perspective!
