Archery/Slingshot Camp

Entering grades 1 – 3 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $240/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $265/week

Weeks of June 10 - August 23 (No program week of July 1)

Two amazing and traditional target sports, the bow and arrow and the slingshot, are very popular today. Participants will gain understanding and learn to properly use them both safely. Campers will learn to make and use their own targets, learn about different types of bows, and the basics of aiming and target shooting.

Advanced Archery Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $240/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $265/week

Weeks of July 8, July 15, July 22, August 5 and August 12

Your child will advance their archery skills and build upon skills learned in our archery and slingshot camp. Daily practice and instruction is offered at camp’s three archery ranges and off site at South Forty Archers in Lakeville.

Intro Climbing Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $270/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $295/week

Weeks of June 10 - August 23 (No program week of July 1)

Campers embark on a climbing adventure! Campers will gain new skills and self-confidence every day through a variety of climbing activities. Campers test their strength, strategy, and skill while learning safety procedures, belay techniques, knot tying and proper climbing techniques.

Extreme Adventure

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $255/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $280/week

Weeks of June 17, June 24, July 8, July 15, July 29 and August 19

Kids looking for some radical new experiences this summer can kick it up a notch with a week packed with extreme fun. This camp is designed to build self-confidence and learn valuable skills through challenging activities while enjoying an unforgettable adventure. Campers embark on full- and half-day activities such as skateboarding at the YMCA Tri-City Skate Park. Base Camp climbing adventure, and disc golfing. The remainder of the day will be spent enjoying traditional camp activities.

Fishing Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $240/week

Camp Streefland is working with the MN DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife to utilize the MinnAqua Program’s national award-winning fishing and aquatic education curriculum in our fishing camps. MinnAqua is a statewide education program designed to teach angling recreation and stewardship as well as the ecology and conservation of aquatic habitats.

Kids get hooked on fishing as they learn basic fishing skills. Lakes provide the scene for fishing fun using the catch-andrelease method. Campers will learn about safety when fishing, how to tie knots, fish identification, which bait to use and how our actions impact nature. Campers can bring their own pole and tackle, or equipment will be provided.

Mountain Biking Camp at Buck Hill

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $355/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $370/week

Weeks of June 10, June 17 and June 24

A step by step guide to beginning mountain bike skills to ease the experience of first-time riders. Participants will learn and practice skills in a safe, controlled environment from certified, experienced instructors with a passion for sharing knowledge and developing skills in others. You will learn to shift gears, speed control, cornering and basic bike maintenance. You will need a functioning mountain bike with gears and a helmet (CPSC certified).

Ski Camp at Buck Hill

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $355 /week
Non-Member Program Participants: $370 /week

Weeks of June 10, June 17 and June 24

Campers learn to ski or snowboard! Our partnership with Buck Hill will allow campers the opportunity to get the feeling of skiing or riding on synthetic snow. Mondays begin with an orientation and 90-minute lessons will be provided each day.

The remainder of each day will be spent enjoying traditional camp activities. Equipment rental is included in the cost and covers boots, skis, binding, poles and helmet.

Challenge Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall, 2019

Member Participants: $285 /week
Non-Member Program Participants: $310 /week

Weeks of June 24, July 8, July 22, August 5 and August 19

Campers strike out on a bold adventure as they test their strength, strategy, and skill. Climbers learn about basic climbing, belay techniques, knot tying and climbing safety. Fun team challenge initiatives will aid in a successful climb. Wednesdays: Campers will participate in an exciting climbing experience at Vertical Endeavors.
