Teen Quest Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $250/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $275/week

Weeks of June 8 - September 4 (No program July 3, fee prorated)

Teen Quest is an exciting day camp program geared toward teens that want total outdoor fun! This program develops valuable life skills such as effective communication, team building, cooperation, and conflict resolution. Participate in a variety of activities including swimming, canoeing and kayaking, environmental education, bowling, a service project, an all-day field trip, and more!

Teen Climbing Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $295/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $320/week

Weeks of July 13, August 10 and August 24

Test your strategy and skill through new fun challenges! Each day focuses on a new element or challenge including knot tying, safety and team work. This camp is designed to build self-confidence and teach valuable skills while enjoying an unforgettable adventure.

Challenge yourself on Streefland’s high ropes course, climbing wall & Giant Swing. The highlight of the week is a day trip on Wednesday at Taylors Falls climbing the bluffs on the river. Campers will return late and parents can pick-up at the Southdale YMCA at 5 p.m. or Camp Streefland at 5:30 p.m.

Teen Outdoor Adventure Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $250/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $275/week

Weeks of July 20, August 3 and August 17

Strike out on a bold adventure of climbing and canoeing as you test your strength, strategy and skill through a week of your favorite outdoor activities. This exciting camp allows you to create and implement a fun outing through the exploration of your favorite outdoor activities. Previous experience climbing and canoeing is beneficial.

Leaders-In-Training Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $360/two weeks
Non-Member Program Participants: $385/two weeks

Two-Week Sessions: June 8 - 19, June 22 - July 2, July 6 - 17, July 20 - 31, August 3 - 14 and August 17 - 28 (No program July 3, fee prorated)

Rise to the challenge in Leaders-in-Training Camp and discover your leadership qualities. You will learn and develop the necessary camp skills needed to lead camper activities, as well as group responsibility through activity planning. You will have opportunities to shadow counselors and assist staff in camp activities. There will be plenty of time to hang out with friends – new and old. Come experience camp from a whole new perspective!

Teen Service Learning Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $250/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $275/week

Weeks of July 13 and August 17

Grow your leadership and team building skills, while bolstering self-confidence through giving back to the community. Earn volunteer hours and improve your skill set while actively participating in traditional camp activities like swimming, canoeing and kayaking, and high ropes course. Service projects take place at camp and in the community. You will receive a certificate with the number of service hours completed. It’s a win-win for you and the community!

Teen Water Adventure Camp

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $295/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $320/week

Weeks of July 6, July 20, August 3 and August 17

The hottest way for kids to cool off this summer! Campers spend the full week enjoying an awesome array of water activities including canoeing, kayaking, swimming and other water activities.

Teen Forkhorn I Camp (Partnership with Minnesota Deer Hunters Association)

Entering grades 7 – 9 in fall

Member Participants: $265/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $290/week

Weeks of July 20 and July 27

This camp is designed for beginning hunters and provides hands-on instruction of basic firearms safety, shooting techniques in rifle, shotgun, and archery. Hunting tips for both big and small game will be provided. Campers will spend the firearm instruction and shooting portion at a shooting range. Campers will take the Firearms Safety Test, those that pass will receive a MN Firearms Safety Certificate.

Junior Counselor

Do you love working with kids in a camp setting? Here’s your chance to take a leadership role! Junior Counselors are assigned to a group and assist the Senior Counselors in leading and carrying out a variety of Day Camp programs. Junior Counselors help campers acquire feelings of high self-esteem, self-worth and competence in an outdoor setting. Previous experience in the LIT program or working with children is required.
