Monthly subscriptions

Monthly subscription offers a discounted rate for automatic billing of one service per month. Your initial service at the George Wellbeing Center will be offered at the monthly subscription rate.

What’s the George Wellbeing Center?

The George Wellbeing Center is a space, for individuals and groups, to prevent and address chronic health symptoms using evidence-based, holistic healing approaches – mind, body, spirit and community.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can call reception at 612-465-0468 or book in person. We’ll be launching online booking in the future.

What if services are out of my price point?

You can sit down with a sales advisor to apply for a scholarship that can support your needs.

Do you take insurance?

We do not work directly with insurance companies. We recommend you work with your insurance company and see what is needed to receive possible reimbursements or coverage.

How do I know which provider is best for me?

You’re welcome to schedule a complimentary 10 minute consult with a provider to learn more about their practice.

What should I expect for my first service?

At your first visit you will complete paperwork that matches the service you are receiving. You and the provider will discuss your paperwork and open communication for what your goals of the session are.

What’s a subscription?

This pricing plan gives you a discounted rate compared to a single session service. A subscription allows you to receive one service once a month. You will be billed monthly on either the 1st or 15th of each month.

Can I use my subscription for different types of services?

No. When you subscribe to a specific type of service you are committing to that type of service. For example, if you subscribe to a 60 minute table massage, you cannot use it for a 60 minute acupuncture session.

Can I have multiple subscriptions?

Yes, you can subscribe to more than one subscription of your choosing.

Acupuncture

How do I register for group acupuncture?

All bookings can be done at reception or calling 612-465-0468. Please note that group acupuncture appointments are necessary and are scheduled every 15 minutes.

How long is group acupuncture?

The allotted time for group acupuncture is 120 minutes, however you will not be in session the entire time. Once you schedule your appointment, expect to be in session for 40-60 minutes.

What do I wear to group acupuncture?

Our acupuncturists recommend you where loose fitting clothes to be able to access the knees down, the arms and possibly the chest. You will remove your shoes and socks during the session.

Is acupuncture painful?

Sensations from acupuncture needles are very minimal, and can include mild tingling, soreness or aching. Some patient’s may feel nothing at all. Patients often feel very calm and relaxed during treatment.

What are the potential side effects of acupuncture?

The most common side effects are light-headedness after treatment, or mild bruising or raised bumps on the skin from the needles that last short periods of time.

Is gratuity expected for my acupuncturist?

No, Acupuncturists don’t expect gratuity, but do appreciate it. 

Massage Therapy

Do I need to be undressed for my massage?

We recommend you undress to the level you are comfortable. Full body massages are typically done completely undressed under a drape. The therapist will work with you to make you comfortable.

Why am I sore after my massage?

Some clients may feel soreness days after their massage. This is normal and due to releasing the muscles. Our providers advise you to drink plenty of water to help with this side effect.

How do I maintain my progress from massage therapy?

Talk with your massage therapist if there are any active practices you can be doing on your own to continue treatment outside of your sessions.

How long should I wait to exercise after a massage?

Many therapists recommend clients avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after a session. Light exercise such as walking, yoga and stretching are typically recommended. Talk to your therapist after your session to see what they recommend.

How often should I get a massage?

Massage treatments vary for all clients. Our massage therapists will create a personalized treatment plan for you and recommend how often you should receive bodywork.

I booked a 30 minute massage, but it wasn’t 30 minutes, why?

When scheduling a 30, 60 or 90 minute service, know that this time also includes the intake process with the provider.

Is gratuity expected?

Gratuity is never expected, but very much appreciated.

What’s health coaching?

Health coaching is a client-centered support system that specializes in supporting each individual’s unique lifestyle changes. With a holistic approach, together--the coach and the client--explore holistic wellbeing, identify goals, and collaborate towards achieving improved health outcomes. Free 10-minute consultation available. 

Why should I work with a health coach?

Working with an experience and licensed health coach offers you support to make change when you need motivation and/or direction. Our health coaches will help you identify your barriers so you can overcome them with plan of action.

Nutrition Coaching

What is holistic nutrition?

Holistic nutrition is a natural approach to wellness that uses symptom-based techniques for lifestyle changes.
What’s nutrition coaching and how can they help me?

A licensed holistic nutritionist/registered dietician will work with you to develop a personalized meal plan aimed at optimizing your health by using food as medicine to prevent or address chronic symptoms, or support your weight management goals. Using a holistic approach, we do not use a one-size-fits all approach, rather a personalized program is tailored to each individual's unique health goals.

I booked my first nutrition coaching session, do I need to prepare?

Once you booked your first session, you will be sent or given a nutrition intake form to be completed 24 hours prior to your session. This allows the nutritionist to learn about you prior to your session. This allows the nutritionist to learn about you prior to your session.
