Internet Safety Workshops at Local Ys

Learn the fundamentals of internet safety in a free, one-hour Be Internet Awesome workshop developed by Google. Childcare will be available onsite, and refreshments will be available. Attendance is free and no RSVP is required.

Workshop Structure

  • The workshop will feature discussion-based, parent-to-parent conversations about how to help children be safe and smart online.
  • Families will learn to teach their children how to communicate responsibly, understand real from fake in the face of phishing and scams, build strong passwords, be positive and kind online, and talk about questionable content with their family.
  • The workshops will also give families the tools and resources to build healthy tech habits with the Family Link app from Google.
  • Workshop attendees will receive free bilingual resources, answers to questions about online safety and digital citizenship, and tools and information to help facilitate discussions at home.

Let’s be safe, confident explorers of the online world together. We hope to see you there to get the conversation started! Learn more at http://g.co/BeInternetAwesome
