When you visit our Healthy Living Kitchen, you’ll get connected with nutritionists and health/wellness professionals that are excited to share how food can be used to benefit your body—whether it’s to boost energy, fight inflammation or reduce stress.
Cooking classes will give you (and your family) an opportunity to learn from nutritionists and health/wellness professionals that are excited to share how food can be used to benefit your body. Our certified cooking facilitators will guide the class through the preparation of a full meal, with the option for participants to assist in prepping the food. You’ll leave the class with a small sample of food you learned to prepare and the recipes used during class for reference.

Egg-cellent Halloween Appetizers - Sunday, October 21 at 10:00am with Marnie
Let’s get creative in the kitchen and make some fun yet nourishing Halloween Appetizers, perfect for a holiday party! In this class, we will be making a variety of Deviled Eggs, including Spooky Spider Eggs, Thai Spiced Deviled Eggs and Avocado Deviled Eggs! We will also create a pumpkin inspired veggie platter with homemade ranch dip to snack on while we create our masterpieces!
Family Cooking Class: Pumpkin Mac and Cheese with Roasted Veggies - Tuesday, October 23 at 6pm
It’s October, so Pumpkin Mac and Cheese with Roasted Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts is a must for the Fall! In this class, adults and kids get to work side-by-side to make this healthy twist on the traditional Mac and Cheese meal. It’s the perfect combination of a fun activity, hands-on cooking instructions, and a delicious meal that you can recreate at home. This super nourishing and tasty meal will give your family long lasting energy and prepare you for the day ahead!

Lightened Up Green Bean Casserole with Shallot Crumb Topping. Tuesday, November 13th at 11:30am with Amy and 6pm with Joan
In this lightened up, nutritionally improved version of the classic green bean casserole, you will learn how to make cream of mushroom soup base from scratch instead of using regular canned soup. Use this homemade cream of mushroom soup recipe in future recipes calling for canned cream of mushroom soup!

Enjoy this brown rice stuffing made with Italian chicken sausage, celery, mushrooms and onions as a Thanksgiving side dish or as a meal by itself. It’s flavorful and nourishing as well as naturally gluten free.
Spinach Salad with Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Peanut Butter Treats. Sunday, November 25th at 10am with Marnie
This nutrient and antioxidant packed salad is lightly coated with a homemade citrus dressing, which makes the perfect base for tender-crisp roasted sweet potatoes. Not only is this salad flavorful but it contains healthy doses of fiber, iron, potassium, vitamin C and immune boosting beta-carotene. The Peanut Butter Treats are so quick and easy they require no baking. They make a great snack to have on hand running errands or as a healthy dessert option for your next holiday get together!
Leftover Turkey Pot Pie Soup. Tuesday, November 27th at 11:30am with Amy
Enjoy creating a soup your entire family will love while using up your Thanksgiving leftovers. You will learn how you can make this versatile soup in your slow cooker, instant pot or on your stovetop. Top the finished product with leftover stuffing if desired.
Have a hassle-free birthday party
Celebrate your child’s birthday at the Y with a Cooking Party—and we’ll handle all the details for the special day. Kids will learn about tasty, nourishing foods with age-appropriate group cooking activities, plus get a primer on kitchen safety. There will be time to enjoy the prepared food together, and open presents too. Birthday parties allow you to pick the food and whether you’d like to include an additional art or fitness activity at the Y.

Healthy Living Kitchen Private Rental
The Healthy Living Kitchen is a great way to get your friends together for a cooking session, pump up a team or enjoy family time together without creating a mess at home. Choose between basic kitchen rentals bringing your own food or facilitator led private cooking classes where we provide the food. Both options are limited to two hours and include a certified cooking facilitator. The facilitator led private cooking class guides your group through the preparation of a meal, with the opportunity for participants to assist in prepping the food. Participants will leave with a small sample of the meal you learned to prepare and the recipes used for reference. Groups are limited to 15 people or less. View brochure
