Our programs for kids and teens promote wellness grounded in the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Sports

Kids learn teamwork and build skills through YMCA youth sports.

School Age Care

Our partnerships with local school districts offer before- and after-school care and school-release day options for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade at dozens of locations across the Twin Cities.

Summer Programs

For the summer, children in preschool through eighth grade can enjoy a variety of enrichment programs.

Arts and humanities classes

Encourage expression in creativity with enrichment classes for kids. These classes are only offered during select times throughout the year. Contact Member Services at 651-259-2133 for more info.

Birthday parties

We have everything you need for a hassle-free birthday party at the Y. Choose from two- and three-hour options that include fun and age-appropriate activities for kids.

Parents night out

Enjoy an evening out and we’ll take care of your children with engaging activities at the Y. Contact Member Services at 651-259-2133 for fees and upcoming dates. Early bird registration is due one week before the event. Download waiver form.

Workout Child Care

When you come to work out at the Y, consider bringing your children along for the fun that awaits them at Kids Stuff, the Y’s child care program. Children ages six weeks to 10 years can participate in age-appropriate activities in a safe environment—free for members. Reservations aren’t required, and your child can enjoy Kids Stuff for up to two hours a day while you are in the building.

Y's Start

For grades 5-8, Mondays from 3-4:30pm. Free for Y Members.

With Y's Start you can:

  • Plan and conduct service projects 
  • Develop your team building and leadership skills

Leader's Club

Teens work together and work and develop all this Y: volunteering, healthy living, making friends, and learning! Grades 7-12. No Cost.

Leaders Rallies

Leaders Club participants have the opportunity to attend Leaders Rallies: a weekend-long retreats for Leaders Clubs across the Midwest. At rallies teens hear from speakers and connect with fellow leaders from all over the country.

A week long leadership training to help teens develop new skills and grow as individuals

Youth In Government

Kids in grades 7-12 can meet new people, make lasting friendships and have powerful conversations on important issues with programs like Model Assembly and Model United Nations.
