Homeschool P.E.

Overview

YMCA Homeschool Physical Education is designed to help K-12 homeschool students learn the importance of healthy living through sports and aquatics activities. Several sessions are available each year. Each session has a comprehensive curriculum that includes SMART goals, instruction in two sports and being active in the pool. YMCA Homeschool P.E. is a great place to meet new friends, create long lasting relationships and learn about the importance of healthy living.

  • Non-member price $110

(A discount for multiple children in the same family is automatically added during the registration process.)

How it works

Registration is by grade: K-2, 3-5 and 6-12. Students meet once a week for two hours. Each class includes age-appropriate instruction in a sport and time in the pool. Most sessions are ten weeks long and feature instruction in two sports. Sports vary by session.

During a ten-week session, you can expect:

  • Week 1: Games, fitness tests and goal setting 
  • Week 2-4: Sport 1 instruction   
  • Week 5-7: Sport 2 instruction 
  • Week 8-10: Group choice and goal assessment

2019 Session schedules

All sessions include aquatics (swimming) and sports instruction in the gym. Class times are as follows:

  • All classes meet from 1:30 - 3:30

Session 1: January 7 - March 16
Sports: Indoor soccer and basketball
Registration opens November 27

Session 2: March 24 - May 31
Sports: Volleyball and track and field
Registration opens February 12
