Personal Consultation

  • Meet one-on-one with a Personal Trainer for an hour
  • Discuss your fitness, nutrition and wellness goals, and learn more about the Y services that will help you meet these goals
  • Free with Y membership

Fitness Assessment

  • Meet one-on-one with a Personal Trainer for 30 minutes
  • Get an assessment of your current physical state so that you can measure progress as you work toward your goals
  • It’s a good idea to schedule a Fitness Assessment after you’ve had a Personal Consultation
  • Free with Y membership

Metabolic Assessment

  • Meet one-on-one with a Personal Trainer for one hour to identify your metabolic rates while resting and while exercising
  • Get a report on how many calories you burn daily, plus recommendations for how to achieve optimized nutrition and exercise results
  • To prepare for your assessment:
    • In the four hours before your appointment, don’t eat or drink anything (other than water), and don’t exercise
    • Don’t use nicotine for one hour before your appointment
    • Continue to take any prescribed medications

  • It’s a good idea to have a metabolic assessment once a year
  • Cost is $50 for members, $80 for non-members

Work out with a friend

Buddy Training

Workout on your own

Get the information you need for a safe and effective self-guided workout. These offerings are free with Y membership.

Equipment Orientation

  • Meet one-on-one with a Personal Trainer for 30 minutes—sign up at Member Services
  • Get an overview of how to use basic equipment and machines in the Fitness Center
  • After orientation, expect to feel more confident and safe during self-guided workouts
  • Focused orientations available for older adults and kids ages seven to 17

Youth Fitness Cards

  • Pick up a pre-planned workout card from Member Services
  • Get an age-appropriate plan that families and kids age seven and up can follow at your own pace—includes exercises from warming up to cooling down
