The YMCA has developed expansive career and leadership development tools, curriculum and opportunities to support part-time team members of color within the YMCA movement. Organizational and institutional barriers to access resources, networks and various opportunities can prevent professional growth, especially for part-time team members. “Bridging the Gap” is a professional development program for part-time team members who receive mentoring from a full-time team member who has advanced in their career. This is an opportunity to be inclusive and create equity by supporting and engaging team members looking to develop a career with the YMCA.
