We’ve created staff-supervised environments that encourage healthy development of teens by having the right guidance and support available while they figure out who they want to be and what they can achieve.

Teen Centers

There are two teen center locations: Hudson YMCA and St. Croix Central Middle School. Teen Centers are open to all community members grades 5-8 for no cost.

Royalty Skate Park

The YMCA in Hudson Skate Park is a fully staffed skate park with a variety of elements to develop skills on skate boards, bikes, blades, and scooters. Open to all community members ages 6 and up.

Open late April to late October

  • School Year Hours: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm, Saturday NOON-6:00pm
  • Summer Hours: Monday- Saturday NOON -8:00pm, Sunday 12:00-4:00pm
  • Member fee: FREE
  • Non-Member fee: $2

Teen Nights

Teen Night is a safe and supervised environment for youth in grades 5-8 with a different theme and organized activities each week.

  • July 7:  7:00-9:30 p.m.
  • July 21: 7:00-9:30 p.m.

Achievers Club

This club provides a forum for High School students to focus on goal setting, exploring secondary & post-secondary options, college tours, and cultural enrichment. Students participate in teambuilding, leadership skill development, career & college exploration, and increasing academic Achievement.

Leaders Club

This club provides teens with extensive leadership training, offering opportunities for service to the YMCA and the community and the opportunity to earn their own student membership to the YMCA. Leaders Club also serves as a recruiting program for future Y professionals. Weekly Meetings are held on Tuesdays at the Hudson YMCA, must fill out an club application (available at the YMCA). Free to Participate (no membership required)

Grades 6-12

Youth in Government

Minnesota Youth in Government is a statewide youth civic education and leadership development initiative. The scope of Youth in Government covers state, national and international governments. Students are provided the tools and opportunity to develop themselves professionally, personally, and socially in a high-energy and rewarding setting. Program include Model Assembly, Model United Nations, Youth Conference on State Issues, and more. Check out the Youth in Government website for more information: www.mnyig.org

Model Assembly Grades 8-12

Students begin meeting in the fall to identify and research issues they care about, debate various viewpoints, and challenge themselves to develop solutions with the intent of attending a four day conference in January in downtown Minneapolis, where students from all over create and direct a mock state assembly. Fees: $435*

Model United Nations Grades 7-12

Students adopt a country, either individually or in a group, research the history and culture of the country with the intent of discussing global issues in a mock creation of the United Nations. Preparations are followed by a three day conference in March in downtown Minneapolis. Fees: $385*

*Scholarships are available and fundraising is done throughout the year to help offset the fees of this program.
