Volunteers play a crucial role in making magic happen here at the Harold Mezile North Community YMCA Youth & Teen Enrichment Center. Our volunteer-based Community Board brings together diverse talents from numerous industries across the Twin Cities.
Learn a little more below about each member’s motivations for investing his/her time and talents.
Donzell Dixson - Board Development Committee Chair
“I could not be in the position I am today without community. It is my responsibility to give back and provide opportunities to those who this may not be afforded to. My desire is to make the path smoother for the next generation.”
Phillip Morris, Board Chair
“It is important for me to support those working to make Minneapolis the best possible place for all. I believe it is hard to find an organization having a more meaningful impact than the staff and team at the North Community YMCA.”

“It’s important to me to give back to the community that has given so much to me. I have seen the impact that positive role models and organizations can have on young people. I want to do my part to help our youth move forward in a positive direction.”
Thomas Toley - Committee chair for Community Relations
“I want to share my skills and experiences to help improve the lives of youth by providing strategic and hands-on support.”
“I firmly believe that having a wealth of knowledge without sharing is a waste of all the experiences that led to that knowledge. Being a part of the Y allows me to share back my knowledge and experiences to help others.”

“I grew up on the north side. I want to do what I can to support a vibrant community for all the youth in the area.”
